Dr. Collins' absolute passion is opening up the world to students through reading and writing.  For over 30 years she has worked with learners from Kindergarten to Graduate School - both in schools and in private practice - focusing on helping them grow as readers and writers.  She has worked with teachers across the U.S., collaborating to fine-tune instruction and teaching practices to better foster students.  Dr. Collins holds a Master of Arts Degree in Curriculum & Instruction in Reading from the University of Colorado and a Doctorate of Education from Teachers College, Columbia University in Curriculum & Teaching with an emphasis on Literacy.  She also holds multiple state and professional certifications in literacy instruction.  She specializes in remediation of reading and writing difficulty in clinical, small group, and classroom settings as well as writing instruction for students with Attention Deficit and Autism Spectrum disorders.  When not reading or writing, she can be found hiking, knitting, or spending time with her favorite people (her four adult children, their partners, and her husband).
