THE LITERACY BARN
Dr. Collins' passion is opening up the world to students through reading and writing. For over 30 years she has worked with learners from Kindergarten to Graduate School - both in schools and in private practice - focusing on helping them grow as readers and writers. She has worked with teachers across the U.S., collaborating to fine-tune instruction and teaching practices to better foster students. Dr. Collins holds a Master of Arts Degree in Curriculum & Instruction in Reading from the University of Colorado and a Doctorate of Education from Teachers College, Columbia University in Curriculum & Teaching with an emphasis on Literacy. She also holds multiple state and professional certifications in literacy instruction. She specializes in the remediation of reading and writing difficulties in clinical, small group, and classroom settings as well as writing instruction for students with Attention Deficit, Dysgraphia, and Autism Spectrum disorders. When not reading or writing, she can be found hiking, knitting, or spending time with her favorite people (her four adult children, their partners, and her husband).

Reading Tutor
Cathlyn Rogozinski
Cathlyn received her undergraduate degree in English from Lake Forest College and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Bank Street College of Education in NYC. She is trained in the Preventing Academic Failure method (an Orton-Gillingham approach) and the Wilson approach to teaching reading. Over the past several years, she has been a private tutor for children in grades K-5 and has worked as a Literacy Tutor and Math & Reading Interventionist for grades K-5 in both public and private schools. She previously taught 1st and 3rd grade in both Harlem, NY, and Cambridge, MA. Passionate about the importance of literature in children's lives, Cathlyn & her own children have read together for over 40000 consecutive days! She lives in Wilton, CT, with her husband and 2 college-age children. She looks forward to sharing her passion for literacy with your child.

Administrative Assistant, Reading & K-5 Math Tutor
Jennifer Jasminski
Jennifer has spent the last eight years working as a literacy paraprofessional in the Ridgefield Public School system. She is a lifelong lover of reading and writing and graduated from Boston College with a BA in English. Upon graduation, she worked in the Reinsurance Industry as a Property Underwriter and Catastrophe Risk Modeler while earning the CPCU professional degree before staying at home to raise two daughters. She recently wrote a children's picture book (awaiting publication); and has begun Orton-Gillingham certification. In her spare time, she enjoys running, traveling, and doing crossword puzzles.

Math Tutor
David Yolen
David Yolen is an experienced mathematics educator with more than three decades of teaching at Ridgefield High School and Greenwich High School. Throughout his career, he has taught a wide range of courses, including Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Statistics, AP Calculus AB, and AP Statistics, while developing curriculum across multiple levels. He established the AP Statistics program at both schools and has coached high school and middle school math teams, demonstrating a longstanding commitment to academic excellence and student achievement.
Before entering education, Mr. Yolen held executive leadership positions in business, serving as Chief Executive Officer of Modern Tobacco Company and Vice President of Golden Distributors Ltd., following the completion of his MBA from Columbia Business School. His background combines strong analytical and leadership skills with extensive classroom experience, supported by degrees in Industrial Engineering and Business Administration from Columbia University. This unique blend of industry and educational expertise has enabled him to prepare students for rigorous college-level mathematics.
